Distributed & mobile applications

In just over two decades mobile communications have changed the way we live. Mobile phones for most, email for many and text, music and video for just about everyone under 30.

As new forms of communication become commonplace their nature changes. Operators aim for market share and ARPU with highly targeted brand and service packages. Manufacturers strive for this season’s must-have device. Content providers continually evolve their offerings to stay in fashion. Business investment for competitive advantage moves from leading edge to established technologies.

As mobile data services strive for mass market appeal and wide commercial adoption, stakeholders jostle for position. The handset must change from simple terminal to flexible platform. The content must change from pictures and music to interactive games and secure applications. And the operators must lead the customer in vision, services and billing. The implications, especially for mobile operators and service providers, are profound.

Our knowledge of these issues enables us to work with leading operators and media providers on radically new distributed mobile applications – with the potential to generate significant new ARPU across business and consumer sectors.

We have experience in the development of communications protocol stacks through JAVA, Symbian, Windows and AJAR applications for phone and SIM, to large .Net-based integrated database systems. We can also deliver a range of distributed applications – these include secure authentication techniques, mobile finance and credit card platforms, biometric key and identity management, and M2M applications drawn from telematics and location-based services.
