Senior Consultant - Embedded Systems

The Embedded Systems team within the Product Development Business Unit is currently looking to recruit a Senior Consultant to develop embedded software and electronic products. This is a multi-faceted hands-on role in which the consultant is expected to manage small project teams, develop system architectures, undertake detailed product development activities and also to support sales activities.

This is a client-facing role and candidates must have excellent communication skills. The role also requires considerable team work and candidates must be able to demonstrate good project co-ordination and first rate prioritising skills. The candidate is expected to become involved in a range of projects serving clients across several industries.

The Person
We are currently looking for an experienced embedded engineer to join at a Senior Consultant level.  The successful candidate should have strong experience in embedded software engineering as well as a working understanding of electronics. Candidates for this position will be expected to have good communications skills to work with clients during project work and also to support group sales. In addition they will have:

  • a good academic track record, with at least a 2.1 in a related discipline, eg, computer science, electronic engineering or equivalent
  • solid background with demonstrable experience of product development projects
  • experience of developing product specifications and designing from system to detailed level
  • experience of a range of processors, operating systems and development tools
  • experience of managing projects to tight budgets and timescales

It would be an advantage if candidates have experience of medical product development.
